Rashida Gordon

Grants Manager

Rashida Gordon is a Licensed Mental Health Clinician (LMHC) and an accomplished consultant with 12+ years of experience across diverse sectors, including child welfare, healthcare, and community-based services. She’s known for her sharp analytical skills and strategic thinking, bringing a unique blend of expertise to organizations seeking a critical thinker who can lead, solve complex problems, and drive impactful change. Rashida has extensive experience as a therapist, grant writer, and leader, including serving as a Program Director, where she oversaw grant-funded initiatives and led teams to develop effective solutions that improved client outcomes. As the founder of MVG Consulting LLC, Rashida specializes in workplace mental health, leadership development, grant, and proposal writing. She has successfully secured funding for numerous organizations and was recognized as one of Legacy Magazine’s 2024 South Florida’s 40 Under 40 Leaders.

Leslie M. Brown

Senior Grant Writer

Leslie M. Brown is a passionate advocate for individual and community growth, with expertise in resource development and mental health. She has secured over $150 million in funding and in-kind resources, supporting human services, the arts, and infrastructure projects. Her work spans nonprofits, government agencies, and businesses, where she has provided strategic planning, program development, and innovative solutions to complex challenges. Brown began her fundraising career with Communities In Schools of Wake County and later secured significant funding and trained nonprofits as a Senior Grants Research Specialist for Broward County Human Services. Brown also contributed to the City of Hollywood, Florida, through roles in the Office of Management and Budget and Human Resources, where she supported fiscal planning, policy implementation, and organizational development. She currently enjoys supporting MVG clients in meeting their development and organizational goals. In addition to resource development, Brown is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Her work in different sectors and communities underscores her lifelong commitment to helping people and communities to thrive.

Jamila McDonald, Esq

Senior Legal Consultant

Jamila Simms is a highly accomplished attorney with over 15 years of experience in contract law. She specializes in risk mitigation and achieving optimal outcomes for her clients in both the public and private sectors. Jamila has a proven track record of success in drafting, negotiating, and administering complex agreements. Her career highlights include serving as Assistant General Counsel for the NYC Department of Transportation and Agency Attorney for the NYC Department of Education. In these roles, she provided expert legal counsel on a wide range of contracts, ensured legal compliance, and resolved disputes. Jamila is licensed to practice law in New York and Jamaica, making her a valuable asset to any organization seeking legal expertise in contract management.
